Johan Hough: Founding and Managing Partner
Johan is the Managing Partner of the Balanced Scorecard Institute of South Africa and Balanced Scorecard Africa. He is a graduate from the Faculty Program in International Business, South Carolina in the USA. Johan holds a MSc and Doctorate in Strategy. He teaches Strategy and International Business, at Stellenbosch University. He has lectured in Sweden, Finland, Botswana and the USA.
Johan is also the Executive Director of the Centre for High Performance Business and project leader of the Certificate Programme in Performance Management with the focus on improving performance in local governments and the private sector.
Areas of expertise include strategic management, international business research, and spearheading “Corporate Entrepreneurship” in South African companies. He was the recipient of the Ernst Oppenheimer Special Overseas Study Grant in 2000.
Johan is the co-editor and main author of 5 books on “Crafting and Executing Strategy”, “Global Business” and “Entrepreneurship in Southern Africa”.
He contributed to more than seventy research articles, local and international conference proceedings, and research reports.
