Conference Overview
The 2012 Balanced Scorecard Conferences in Johannesburg and Cape Town is presented by The Balanced Scorecard Institute of South Africa, Balanced Scorecard Africa and Lode Star Strategy Consulting.
They are designed to energize and empower African organizations into becoming sustainable, high performing companies with clear vision into mapping and clarifying strategy and capabilities of aligning, automating and reviewing their corporate and business performance.
Senior management and business executives with responsibility for strategy, ICT, human resources performance and operations will gain insight into the latest management “moonshots” and Blue Oceans thinking on the African continent. Participants will be able to assess their own visions, strategic objectives, operational challenges and discover how to transfer business innovations into practical thinking.
Dr. Johan Hough is the Managing Partner of the Balanced Scorecard Institute and the South African and African expert in developing, executing and aligning strategies and performance management systems. He will be joined by Robert Payne from Lode Star Strategy Consulting (which focuses primarily on the strategic role and positioning of the IT organization within the enterprise) and Johan Brits of SuccessFactors, service provider of Walmart, USA.
Participants will gain insights into the implications of King III for the management of IT in the enterprise, and receive practical tips and techniques in translating the enterprise strategy into a corresponding IT strategy and relevant IT governance artifacts which drive value whilst keeping risk under control.
Participants will learn about potential business vulnerabilities attributable the organization's many and varied dependencies on its IT resources, and how to implement processes and controls designed to reduce risk while maximizing value delivery.
The presenters are all experienced business executives who think and act strategically and who have created significant platforms for superior performance leadership, information technology transfer, IT governance and line-of-sight in global, public and private organizations across Africa.
Practical case studies, expert involvement, and global best practice examples will provide participants with leading edge knowledge to create sustainable competitive advantage in Southern Africa and the continent.
