Building Blocks of the Conference
BSCI Performance Tracker
Create The Future!
Topic 1: Mapping Performance
Craft the Strategy
Crafting any strategy requires business intelligence and a focused process of scanning the internal and external environment. We combined a wealth of scientific and strategic expertise with strategic thinking abilities in the flammable liquid, energy, health, agriculture, retail, hospitality, transport, infrastructural, wine and liquor, airline, consulting, housing, cellular phone, investment, tobacco, water, and banking and financial industries. We create the future with our clients!!
Translate the strategy
We are masters in this process of transforming the strategic directions, and objectives and strategic issues into visual presentations. We define strategic issues as any issue or aspect which might change a company’s course. We map the strategy into performance clusters and ensure the line-of-sight from the start. The outcome of this process is embedded in the Strategy Map and the Corporate Scorecard.
Topic 2: Aligning Business and People
Align the business
Most of the businesses in South Africa are not fully aligned and therefore not balanced. We developed the Alignment Matrix to guarantee 100% alignment throughout the business and confirm the line-of-sight.
Align the people
Full alignment is reached when everybody can “see” her or his contribution to the Strategic objectives of the business. The overlap with the business, people, the alignment Matrix and the Strategy Map is crucial for 100% alignment. Full integration is the positive result from this alignment process. The outcome is fully balanced performance plans for the Strategic Business Units (SBUs), balanced individual performance contracts with measurable and sensible Key Performance Indicators. This drives talent and career management. The overall result is happy employees!
Topic 3: Automate the Strategy
There are too many instances where there is a disconnect between where the business is going and where the IT organization is headed. All too often, IT becomes a self serving enterprise living in a cocoon giving the appearance that it is supporting the business while it serves its own interests. These are the cases where there is no alignment between IT and the business. The questions are, how do we establish proper alignment, how do we know when we are there, and how do we maintain alignment?

Topic 4: Review and Assess Performance
Review and manage strategy and performance
Topic 4 seamlessly links with topics 1-3 to perform on-line assessment and on-line contracting or re-contracting for performance. This is extremely important in that line managers, HR units and/or supervisors must understand the importance and the impact of this assessment and review process because future staff planning and career management is crucial to create the future for the business. Factual reports on the significance of the correlation between competencies and performance (KPIs) is the basis of retaining talent in the business.
Assess the strategy and performance
The last phase is very much about looking back and forward. Looking backwards by drawing the Value Curve and completing the High Performance Assessment for the business, and thinking ahead by identifying additional strategic differentiators along the complete value chain.
