Background
The Balanced Scorecard Institute of South Africa (BSCI)
is located in Somerset West, South Africa and is managed by
Dr Johan Hough. It was founded
in 1999 and provides consulting and training
opportunities to assist innovative companies and
progressive local government agencies in developing and
applying performance management systems and Balanced
Scorecard concepts to strategic management. We are a
results oriented business whose aim is to assist our
clients create sustained performance cultures in their
business and to become strategy-focused
organisations.
Our performance approach is focused on the needs of
managers who need to deploy and implement performance
indicators and targets, and improve their overall strategic
performance. The focus is on delivering results by aligning
operations and building capacity through excellent
services.
A key component of our approach to building a Balanced
Scorecard system is strategy facilitation, strategy
development, implementation and aligning everybody
with the strategic objectives. Strategy is the means by
which an organisation translates customer and stakeholder
needs into the most cost-effective means of delivering the
necessary services, activities, programmes, and processes.
Development of good strategies leads to development of good
programmes and services, and can provide the basis for
increased company performance and to create measures for
teams and individuals to add value to accountability.
